EU DRONE LICENSE for the Open-category
OUR COURSES FOR THE OPEN-CATEGORY
Since 2021, anyone flying a drone weighing more than 250 grams must obtain a drone licence. Depending on the weight of the drone, and the distance to 'congested area's', pilots must obtain only the EASA A1/A3 certificate (Proof of Completion Online Training A1/A3) and, if necesarry, additionally the EASA A2 certificate (Remote Pilot Certifcate of Competency).
- Is the weight of your drone less than 250 grams? Then you do not need any drone license.
- The EASA A1/A3 certificate allows you to fly drones from 250 grams untill 25 kilograms but no closer than 150 metres horizontally of 'congested areas' or uninvolved people.
- The EASA A1/A3 certificate complemented by the EASA A2 certificate allows you to fly Cx-labelled drones from 250 gram untill 4 kilograms within 'congested area's' but no closer than 30 metres to uninvolved people.
At Drone Flight Academy it is possible to obtain both certificates online and in your own time. Below you will find an overview of all our courses related to both certificates.
